You may have noticed Openreach in your area recently as they are currently working on upgrading the network to enable better broadband speeds. It’s part of their Big Switch Off coming in 2025 when all traditional telephone lines will be turned off, including broadband supplied on copper wires. If you’re still using traditional telephone lines then our advice is to switch sooner rather than later, as the undertaking throughout the country is huge. More information on the Big Switch Off and the pitfalls in delaying the move can be found here in our earlier article. We will be looking to implement a plan to move all traditional lines well before 2025 to ensure a smooth transition.

As part of this overhaul towards better connectivity, existing fibre broadbands may also be in line for upgrades to a superior service and our IT support company Birmingham is looking at all our customers’ current broadbands to see if an improved connection is now available.
